| The children in the Artemivsk Orphanges have wonderful artistic abilities! They created the artwork that was used on these beautiful Christmas cards (see photo, right). Cards were sold in packs of 10 all around the Omaha Metro area and even around the country as a fundraiser. The results were great - enough was raised to provide a joyous Christmas and help all year long to nearly 300 children! Click here to see the photos!!! A Reason to Smile Items were purchased with these funds for the Baby House (ages 0-3) and the Internat (ages 7-16.) Items that went to the Baby House included baby buggies and strollers so infants can learn to sit up earlier and go outside in the spring and summer, clothing, blankets, baby food and a variety of educational toys, tricycles and walkers! Items for the older children in the Internat (ages 4-16) included school and craft supplies, sports equipment, medical equipment, clothing and blankets and fresh fruit and candies - something rare for these kids! Grateful and Responsible Caregivers After receiving the funds, the Superintendent of Education, who oversees Artemivsk's orphanages, was sure to send us a full financial report that included details about everything purchased and receipts for each purchase. The amount of gratitude and responsible use of these funds are very inspiring. Operation Ukraine is proud to work with such an honest and truly dedicated group of Ukrainians! Cards Travel the Globe! We asked those receiving cards to visit this website and tell us how far the card traveled to them. Results? The cards went around the world! Here are some of the places they ended up:

YEAH! A computer was also purchased with the money from Operation Ukraine. This will help the orphanages to keep track of children's medical needs, histories and other important information. |

Left, some of the food for babies that was also purchased. The orphanages receive little money to feed children and struggle to avoid malnutrition. Additional food was provided throughout the year. | |||||||||
