How to Help

There are so many ways that individuals, schools, churches and businesses can help the orphans in Ukraine!

If you would like to discuss additional ways you would like to help, just contact us and tell us about your ideas!

Raising Funds

We periodically send funds to the orphanages to help supplement food costs, purchase clothing and other supplies and cover other expenses like repairs. The orphanage staff have always used the funds as they were intended and provide us with detailed financial documents. Our relationship with those we work with in Artemivsk is unusually open, transparent and trusting! We are extremely proud of this relationship as it inspires us to know they are so dedicated to doing things the right, ethical way, and that the help is going directly to the children!

Donations

Operation Ukraine accepts donation of needed items and money. 100% of the money donated goes directly to benefit the children. We do not have any overhead costs and we are a completely volunteer organization. Cash donations allow us to:

  • Provide funds for the orphanage to use to buy additional food, clothing and shoes locally
  • Help to cover the expense of shipping items donated in the U.S. Many of these items, such as baby hygiene items, are difficult to purchase in Ukraine
  • Continue developing programs that help these children long-term, including job training skills, English classes and the Operation Ukraine scholarship program
  • If you would like to make a donation for a specific need, you can read about urgent needs here
  • If you would like your donation to be used for something not listed, please tell us and we will make sure it is used that way

Collecting Supplies

Some people prefer to collect needed supplies through their church, school, workplace or neighborhood. Others like to work solo to provide what they can. All of these are wonderful ways to help! Here's what you can do:

  • Take a look at our Urgent Needs page. Each and every item that we receive from this list will be sent to the orphanages in our monthly care packages.
  • Purchase or collect any of these items. This makes a wonderful service project for youth groups, schools or a family.
  • Send these items to us or drop them off; or, send them directly to Artemivsk. You can find the information on the Contact Us page.
  • Tell your neighbors and friends. Ask them to save their children's clothing*. These items can be any size - from infant to late teenager. All are needed. *Because shipping is expensive, we ask that only new or lightly used items be donated.

Adopting from Ukraine

We believe it is vital to help those children who are still living in orphanages and those who, statistically, are unlikely to be adopted. Our hope, however, is that more and more children will be adopted from Ukraine and have the loving, stable family they desire and deserve.

As Ukraine's economy improves, more and more Ukrainians are able to adopt children within the country. We celebrate this fact! However, the majority of children are still adopted internationally.

The Ukrainian adoption program is well-respected and has provided thousands of American couples and single people with the joys of parenthood and family, and thousands of beautiful, hopeful, loving children with a home.

There are 60-65 children ages birth to 3 in the Baby House and 160 in the Artemivsk Internat for kids 7-16.

Imagine feeding, clothing and caring for nearly 200 children each day with no money!
