Special Needs
- We are currently raising funds to renovate the laundry facility at the baby orphanage. It is in a building built in 1882 and has had very few updates since! It will require funds to pour a new concrete floor, reinforce walls, repair plumbing and electrical, and buy new washing machines! Please CONTACT US FOR MORE INFORMATION!
- The baby house (0-3 years), Sonichko (3-7 years) and Internat (7-16 years) are all in DESPERATE NEED of new developmental and good quality toys. Click here for a Toy Needs List! Please consider donating for shipping costs as well, so the toys can reach the children who need them! As always, only clean, undamaged used items or new items are needed.
- Funds to purchase new furniture for the Baby House. The old furniture is literally falling apart, splintering and very dangerous. With just $150, we can purchase a couple of pieces. For $2,000, we can make this a safe place for children.
- Funds for building repairs at the Baby House and Internat. All windows in the baby house and preschool age orphanage (Solnichko) must be replaced, a broken ventilation system at the baby house, and many other issues to fix.
Donations for Shipping Costs
Donations of money towards the cost of shipping would be GREATLY appreciated - it is expensive to ship, but since some items are difficult to buy in Ukraine, we must send them.
Baby Items
- Donations to purchase baby formula locally
- Diaper rash cream (lanolin-based AND zinc-based)
- Baby hygiene items - wash, shampoo, lotion, oil, powder (they LOVE this at the orphanage and always ask for it!)
- Infant vitamin drops
- Baby nail clippers and other small hygiene items
- Developmental toys and crib mobiles (used is great, as long as it is in good condition!)
Clothing
- NEW underwear (from child’s 2T to child's 6/7)
- NEW socks – for children from ages baby to 6
- WARM gloves/mittens
Medicines
(Generics or store brands are great!)
- Funds to purchase cough medicines locally - VERY DESPERATELY NEEDED (the Ukrainian government will no longer allow the orphanages to use donated medications)
- Vic's Chest Rub or generic equivalent
- Antibiotic ointment (like Neosporin, etc.)
- Children’s vitamins (drops for babies, chewables for kids)
- Band aids (with or without kids’ designs)
- Anti-itch cream (generic zinc oxide or hydrocortisone)
Toiletries and Other
- Funds to purchase soap, shampoo, lotion, toothpaste and disinfecting/cleaning supplies locally
- Toothbrushes, especially kids ages 2-7
- Baby combs or brushes
